There are limited therapeutic options for the over 700,000 Americans who suffer a stroke each year.
NeuroProtect, Inc., (NPI), is developing novel therapeutics to protect against and treat stroke injury. NPI was founded for the purpose of discovering and developing new therapeutics for the treatment of stroke.
We are a subsidiary of VIROGENOMICS, Inc., a privately held Oregon-based biotechnology company. VIROGENOMIC’S business strategy is to identify and obtain the rights to early-stage technologies, and then manage and develop these technologies for drug discovery and development. Virogenomics’ executives have extensive experience in taking products through the FDA regulatory system. They have received FDA approval on four products for several previous companies.
Our two most advanced drug candidates are:
NPI-505: Acute Stroke Therapy
NPI-505 could be given to the 700,000 stroke victims in the US each year.
NPI-503: Protective Therapy
NPI-503 would be given to people at high risk of ischemic injury, such as the 350,000/year coronary artery bypass patients (CABG).
